The KVMI Education Fund (Fund") is a 501 (c) 3 organization working in association with the Kanawha Valley Mining Institute. Established in June of 2016, the Fund enhances our fund raising abilities to support our scholarship and education programs.  CHARLES BOWLING SCHOLARSHIP

ONE TIME AWARD - Applied for Annually

The KANAWHA VALLEY MINING INSTITUTE provides several scholarships each year to deserving college students selected by a committee comprised of the Directors of the Institute. The students should have completed their first year of study in an accredited program leading to a degree in a discipline related to needs of the mining industry. It can include a broad range of fields such as engineering studies, technology studies, computer sciences, accounting, and other similar studies.
An application for a scholarship should be completed and submitted to either a scholarship coordinator at the College or University or it may be submitted directly to the Institute.

An application may be obtained by downloading it from one of the links below or by contacting a Director of the Institute on the Officers & Directors Page at the link on this page.

Applications are accepted during the months of October and November.
Applications must be submitted by December 1 of the applicable year.
Awards are usually made in early February.

(2) ENDOWED KANAWHA VALLEY MINING SCHOLARSHIP

Administered by the GREATER KANAWHA VALLEY FOUNDATION
This scholarship is awarded to a high school senior and can be renewed for four years, if the student maintains his/her full time student status and maintains a GPA of 2.7. More details of the program may be reviewed at the here.
